| Summary: | This report presents the synthesis and recommendations made by the group of experts brought together by the French institute of health and medical research (INSERM) within the framework of the procedure of Expertise collective (expert advisory opinions) to respond to questions raised by the French national health insurance fund for independant workers (CANAM) concerning screening for childhood obesity and its prevention. The Centre d'expertise collective de l'Inserm (INSERM Collective Expertise Centre) coordinated this work in cooperation with the Departement animation et partenariat scientifique (DAPS; leadership and scientific partnership department) for the preparation of the file and the Service de documentation du Department de l'information scientifique et de la communication (DISC; documentation service of the scientific information and communication department) for the literature search (department of scientific information and communication). This report was published in French under the title Obesite, depistage et prevention chez l'enfant, Editions Inserm, 2000, 325 pages, 180 FRF.
